About the INGenWeb Project: In June 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Indiana Comprehensive Genealogy Database. White  County was officially chartered on February 1, 1834 with the County seat in Monticello. Before this time the territory was under the jurisdiction of Carroll County.

The Society of Indiana Pioneers deems all individuals who entered into residency in White County on or before December of 1840 to be Pioneer status eligible. We encourage all eligible families to apply.
